eBay to offer mobile e-commerce platform next year

KOLKATA: eBay India on Thursday said it will introduce mobile enabled e-commerce platform next year as soon as 3G roll-out takes place in the country.

“Offering mobile-based eBay service is planned for 2010 and will synchronise with 3G roll-out,” the eBay India Marketing Director, Mr Kashyap Vadapalli, said here on Thursday.

This technology will help mobile users to make financial transactions through their cell phones.

He said with 3G WAP-based service will be available for the mobile eBay site.
