Variety NEW DELHI: Can you find 49 words which read as words backward; or 50 or more words from a single word advertising? There is more coming - find 50 pairs of words with different spellings but the same pronunciation and 25 pairs of words that contradict each other. Creative twisters, as these are called, are sure to boggle any master of the English language. A new book `Brainstorming Reinvented' gives nine such twisters and tells the readers to device the 10th creative twister and explain how it can help someone. By doing creative twisters, one can increase the ability to micro-manipulate words and attain mirror vision which means the capacity to look at words forwards and backwards, says the author of the book, Linda Conway Correll, Assistant Professor, Department of Advertising, University of Florida. One such twister asks the reader to find out 50 words all of whom have the quality that they read backwards also as words and gives the example of the word tar, which when read backwards is rat. The book lays stress on Creative Aerobics for brainstorming. It utilises four successive mental exercises that enhance the flow of information between the left and the right brain. The exercises increase exponentially the number of creative solutions arrived at, leading to a situation of creativity on demand. - PTI
