Titan, WWF sign pact

CHENNAI: Watch manufacturing major Titan and the World Wildlife Fund on Thursday signed an agreement to come out with watches on five endangered species of India.

“The dials of these watches will be shaped like that of the tiger and four other species,'' Mr Ajoy Chawla, Vice President, Global Business Head, Titan industries, told a press meet here. The revenue earned from sale of these watches, priced between Rs 2 ,000 to Rs.4,500, would be given to World Wildlife fund for its operations, he said.

The watches would be launched in September next, he said. He said the number of exclusive retail sales outlets of Titan would go up from the present 265 to 300 by the end of the current fiscal. Later, he launched Titan's 'Stambha'' range of watches, a re plica of pillars of Indian temples, at a function here. The watches will be priced at Rs 7,500. - PTI
