Andhra Pradesh CM meets PM, Sonia

NEW DELHI: On his maiden visit to the national capital after taking over as the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, Mr K. Rosaiah on Saturday met the Prime Minister, Dr Manmohan Singh, and the Congress President, Ms Sonia Gandhi, and is understood to have dis cussed political developments in the State, particularly the convening of Congress Legislature Party meeting.

Mr Rosaiah is believed to have discussed issues related to flood relief in the State. The Centre had announced Rs 1,000 crore to carry out flood relief works in Andhra Pradesh.

The meeting assumes significance in the wake of the High Command virtually announcing that Mr Rosaiah will continue as the chief minister.

Earlier, Mr Rosaiah met Ms Sonia Gandhi and held consultations with her on the political situation as well as the upcoming Greater Hyderabad Muncipal Corporation elections. — PTI
