Residential complex for Delhi policemen

NEW DELHI: Housing woes of Delhi Police personnel are likely to lessen soon with the authorities planning to develop an Rs 750-crore residential complex in 25 hectares in the outskirts of the city.

The proposed complex, to come up in government land in Dheerpur, will have about 6,000 dwelling units. The project will be executed through a public-private partnership venture on design, build, finance, operate and transfer basis.

“We intend to improve the current level of housing satisfaction from 22 per cent to 40 per cent by the end of the current Five- Year Plan and this project is an effort in that direction,” a senior police official said.

For realising the project, the city police have already invited tenders for preparing a master plan and conducting a feasibility study of the project.

The residential complex is likely to have a community centre, recreation and health facilities, he said. - PTI
