India, Iceland sign double taxation avoidance agreement

CHENNAI: India signed a double taxation avoidance agreement with Iceland today. The agreement also aims at promoting economic co-operation between the two countries, according to a release.

The agreement was signed by Mr P. Chidambaram, Finance Minister, and Mr Arni Mathiesen, Minister of Finance of Iceland.

Welcoming the 45-member business delegation, Mr Chidambaram expressed the confidence that the agreement would result in high degree of comfort level of investors of both countries.

Mr Mathiesen said that the agreement would facilitate flow of more investment in both the countries and would further enhance mutual economic relationship. - Our Bureau
