Voice chat

I have a Pentium III machine with Windows 98. I am unable to voice-chat in Yahoo with my online friends. I have checked the multimedia Properties and everything is in an ``enabled'' condition.

I tried the Yahoo Messenger Wizard but it fails at the last moment, citing voice connection error. Everytime after I try this, my usual voice recording software does not work and I have to restart the computer. Please suggest a solution.
