Mail transfer

T. P. Sampath

I have an HP PC wherein I have installed MS Office 2000 from the original CD and have been using Outlook for over a year now. Recently I bought an HP laptop. I desired to import all my Outlook mail from the PC to the laptop. I exported Inbox with all sub-folders to a .pest folder to a CD and named it outlookx.pst.

When I try to import this under my laptop Outlook using import feature, importing Program file, selecting a personal folder(.pst) files for import, and then selecting the file saved in CD which I had copied to My Documents in laptop, I get a message box titled Personal Folders with a message ``Properties for this information services must be defined before use.''

Upon clicking OK, I get a message ``Access Denied. You do not have permission to access c:\my documents\outlookx.pst.'' I am using the same e-mail address and server in both machines (VSNL). Please suggest a remedy.

Please make sure that you have followed all the instructions in the Import and Export Wizard while exporting the file.
