More speed and power

I have an HCL BB P5 - Pentium 200 MMX/512KB/16 MB SDRAM/2.1 GB machine with Windows 95, IE 5 and Office 97 installed. Everytime I log on, I get an error message : ``Cannot import C:\Windows\kak.reg. Error opening the file. There may be a disk or file system error'' and two blank windows open ``Driver Memory Error'' and ``C:\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup\KAK.HTA .'' Also I want to upgrade my computer speed. As per the manual, it can only be upgraded to 233 MHz and 256 MB RAM. Please suggest an optimum configuration so that Internet connectivity can be speeded up and downloads made faster.

A possible reason for this error is that the .reg file is located in a folder whose name contains spaces. You can get details of this error from the link http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/q187/3/16.asp

As for better connectivity, there are various third-party utilities available that can be used to increase the Internet connection speed, boost the system RAM and hard disk space such as ``Windows power tools'' which can be downloaded free from the site: http://www.dmisoftware.com/powertools.htm http://www.internet-speed.8m.com/
