PHOENIX Global Solutions and IBM India have MetLife India Insurance as their client soon after the IT giants formed a strategic alliance to pioneer the convergence of insurance and technology for the Indian insurance market.

IT education major, LCC Infotech Ltd, is firming up plans to set up a joint venture in China shortly. The proposed venture will be set up in collaboration with a ``business house there having investment capabilities and geographical reach.'' Talks in thi s regard were at an advanced stage, according to Ms Kirti Lakhotia, Managing Director of the company.

THE Chennai based enmail.com, an Intel portfolio company that specialises in providing outsourced messaging services for business of all sizes, is all set to introduce Customer Relationship Management (CRM) technology to enable efficient management of al l customer-related information in an organisation.

•  Sonata sees lower income
SOFTWARE services firm Sonata Software Ltd. has sharply cut down its earnings forecast for October-December period or its third quarter of current financial year 2001-02, blaming a slowing US economy.

•  New Subex tool to manage fraud
SUBEX Systems Ltd, the Bangalore-based telecom software company, plans to create a new fraud management package by merging OutSmart, the product acquired from Magardi Inc early this year with its own fraud management product Ranger, to cater to both the wireless and wireline markets.

•  Pentasoft trims staff strength
The Chennai-based software and services training firm, Pentasoft Technologies Ltd, has reduced its staff strength by 1,335 between the first and second quarters of the current fiscal year ending March 30, 2002.

•  Bazee.com acquires Bidorbuy.com
NEW DELHI: Bazee.com has said it has acquired the Indian operations of Bidorbuy.com Inc, in an all-stock deal.

TALISMA Corporation has closed a third round of funding of $10 million, led by current investors Oak Investment Partners, Madrona Venture Partners, SeaPoint Ventures and founder and CEO , Mr Pradeep Singh.
