Air Sahara launches frequent flyer scheme
Our Bureau
NEW DELHI, Nov. 16
IN an effort to attract more passengers, Air Sahara (AS) today rolled out the `Cosmos' frequent flyer programme.
The programme, which senior airlines officials prefer to call as the `power flying programme', promises to get the flyer to the goal of getting a free ticket faster than any of the existing programme of rival airlines - Indian Airlines (IA) and Jet Airways (JA).
The AS programme offers the passenger the option of getting a Delhi-Mumbai-Delhi return ticket after 13 flights on the airline as compared to 20 flights on IA and 15 on Jet, airline officials said.
Further, the airline is also offering the passenger the option of going abroad, with 23 return flights with the airline allowing the passenger the option of travelling to Disneyland. The airline also offers a number of other Indian and international destinations, products and holiday packages which will be available to passengers who are members of the programme.
Besides, the airline has launched three promotions concurrently to attract more passengers including the `double up' offer to give the member double the number of actual miles flown. However, this offer is valid till January 31, 2002.
The airline has also launched the `Bank your mile' offer through which members of the IA and JA frequent flyer plan need to only send a copy of the current mileage statement by December 31, after which the airline will start to `bank' these miles. ``Thereafter each time a passenger flies on the airline, not only will they earn Cosmos miles, we will transfer and credit 100 per cent bonus from the miles banked with us,'' AS officials said. Therefore under the scheme, a passenger flying between Delhi and Mumbai would get double the number of statue miles flown.
Passengers can enroll for the programme either at the time of checking in, on board, through the mail or online. The airline also offers a 1,000-mile enrollment bonus.
