Dec 11: Standard Chartered Bank Mauritius has received the Reserve Bank of India’s approval to acquire 49 per cent stake in broking firm, UTI Securities Ltd, from Securities Trading Corporation of India.

Dec 13: UTI Mutual Fund and SBI Mutual Fund given the mandate to manage the funds mobilised under the life insurance services provided through the post offices network.

Dec 14: Bank loans to equity-oriented mutual funds will now form part of the bank’s total capital market exposure, says the Reserve Bank of India.

Dec. 16: RBI plugs loophole in forex management regulations: Cos must issue shares against money received within 180 days

Dec 17: The Finance Ministry relaxes encashment norms for joint holder type term deposits under the tax-saving ‘bank term deposit scheme’ framed last year.
