Kanoria Chemicals & Industries Ltd has informed BSE that there was a breakdown in the Generator (both Stator and Rotor) of Power Generation Unit-1 of the Company at Renukoot with an installed capacity of 25 MW (out of total installed capacity of 50 MW at this location), in the night of October 28, 2009. The Company has taken steps for repairing of the relevant parts of the Generator after assessing the damage and estimating the time for repair in consultation with the experts, which is expected to take about two months time for completion of repairing and restoration of power generation from the said unit 1. This will result in loss of power production of 25 MW during that period. Further the Company has informed that the breakdown is covered under the insurance policy taken by the Company.
