AMARA RAJA BATTERIES has launched the Optima range of batteries under a distribution arrangement with Johnson Controls Inc, USA. They employ `spiral cell technology.' Amara Raja has the exclusive right to distribute Optima within the SAARC countries. Targeted at high-performance and demanding segments such as cars, SUVs, recreation vehicles, road caravans, construction equipment, earthmoving equipment and for marine applications, the batteries come in three ranges - Red Top, Yellow Top and Blue Top. Prices begin at Rs 9,000.
