Hi-tech handset

PANTECH, the South Korean mobile phone manufacturer, has announced that Tata Indicom service will be available on Pantech mobile handsets. Pantech plans to roll out several CDMA handsets in India. The first is the PA-711 featuring the BREW platform, which allows users to download a range of applications to personalise their handsets. It also includes the T9 Text Input function, which offers a range of language characters and enables Internet access and e-mail functions. Priced at Rs 4,699, it is available at all retail outlets where Tata Indicom mobile phones are exhibited.
