Serious Fun: Adding Buzz to Meeting, Training and Communications; Mark Barnes Here is a simple activity to engineer discussion around products and services, as Mark Barnes explains in Serious Fun: Adding Buzz to Meeting, Training and Communications (Westland). Write the title ‘Excellent Service’ as a heading on a flipchart, and theme for the session. Then, the first step is to divide the group into pairs and triads, ask everyone to think about occasions in the past when they have received excellent service and to ̵ 6;tell the story’ to the other participants in their sub-group. “Step 2: Ask each sub-group to brainstorm together a list of specific reasons which explain what it is about each of these stories that makes them particularly good examples of excellent service and capture the ideas.” And then the final step is to ask the group to identify which of the characteristics that they have listed are relevant to them in their jobs and how they could demonstrate these to their own customers.
