After leading textile brands and automotive companies taking to eco-friendly Sorona fibre developed by DuPont, it is the turn of the weavers’ community to design sarees and other ethnic wear.

Sorona is a biopolymer used in residential and commercial carpets, apparel and automotive markets. Now, weavers in Surat, Gujarat and other parts of the country are making sarees and soon ethnic fabrics made out of its blends, for its versatile qualities, will find their way into neighbourhood stores. Globally, textile makers have adapted Sorona fibre, which had found its way into making formal suits.
