Amara Raja Batteries on Wednesday posted 28.51 per cent increase in net profit at Rs 97.8 crore for the first quarter ended June 30, 2013.
The company had posted net profit of Rs 76.1 crore for the April-June period of 2012-13 fiscal.
The Q1, 2013-14, net sales rose to Rs 886.8 crore from Rs 687.8 crore during the same period of previous fiscal, Amara Raja Batteries said in a statement.
The company scrip closed at Rs 276.95, up 8.04 per cent, on the BSE.
