With the New Delhi Municipal Corporation (NDMC) still awaiting instructions from Ministry of Home Affairs on the auction of the Taj Mansingh hotel, another extension for the Taj Hotels seems to be on the cards. NDMC had given a lease extension to Taj Hotels for six months which ends on March 31. This was the third extension since October 2011. Earlier, NDMC had written to the Home Ministry to seek Solicitor General’s opinion on whether Taj Hotels should be given the first right of refusal.Officials said that the final decision on the future course of action will be taken at the NDMC Council meeting which is slated to happen later this month.
