Apollo Hospitals has partnered with molecular and genetic analysis company, Datar Genetics Limited, to develop and promote precision oncology based on molecular and genetic analysis.
The partnership will help the hospital use molecular and genetic analysis in diagnosis, treatment and monitoring of cancer. It will leverage technology to introduce precision matching for organ and bone marrow transplants, according to a press statement.
The companies will also participate in the research and development initiatives in cancer management and develop clinically implementable technologies.
The press statement quoted K Hariprasad, President, Apollo Hospitals, as saying , “With the evolution of molecular diagnostics and genetics, it’s time to leverage technology to enable precision diagnosis and commensurate treatment, giving the patient the best chance to fight cancer upfront, save costs and reduce suffering.”
Rajan Datar, Managing Director, Datar Genetics, said in the statement, “It is inevitable that genetics will be the main stay of all aspects of the war on cancer.”
