Engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) conglomerate Punj Lloyd has bagged a project worth Rs 1,050 crore from GMR Projects Private Ltd.

Punj Lloyd will undertake the design, engineering, procurement and construction of 124 km of the six-lane Chittorgarh bypass to Udaipur (Rajasthan), according to a company release here on Wednesday. The company said it had got the letter of intent from GMR for the project that is scheduled for commissioning in 36 months and has got it on a turnkey fixed EPC price basis.

With this contract, the order backlog for the Punj Lloyd Group on a consolidated basis has gone up to Rs 28,725 crore, reflecting the total value of unexecuted orders on September 30 and orders received after that day, the release added.

Mr S.S. Raju, CEO, Infrastructure, Punj Lloyd Ltd, said, “This EPC project from GMR is a testimony to our experience and expertise.”

The project forms part of phase-5 of the National Highways Development Programme of the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) for upgrading the four-lane section to six-lane.

At present, Punj Lloyd is executing another EPC order for GMR Hyderabad Vijayawada Expressways Private Ltd for NHAI.
