Apollo Group of Hospitals is confident of completing the roadmap for its association with Malaysian sovereign fund Khazanah Nasional in a few weeks. The roadmap would comprise roles that each entity would play as they prepare global expansion plans.

Talking to reporters on the sidelines of second edition of GAPIO (Global Association of Physicians of Indian Origin), Dr Prathap C Reddy, Chairman of Apollo Group of Hospitals, said the roadmap was not about finances but more about roles to offer medical education and management services globally.

Khazanah, which holds a sizeable stake in Apollo, has presence in healthcare through Parkway. “They strongly feel that if Apollo joins them, they could cover the Indian sub-continent, Association of South East Asian Nations, Middle-East and North Africa and parts of Europe as well,” Dr Reddy said.

He said the group was focussed to complete the target to add 2,400 beds in the next few months. It was not group's immediate agenda to revive plan to open hospitals in the UK and the US.
