Well done. Way to go !
First of all, kudos to the entire team behind this successful mission of saving natural resources. It will be interesting to know how this was achieved and by what means. I am an ISO 9001 champion of my company in bahrain and would like to get more information on this., Raghuraman
Please ask them at what cost were they able to achieve this? Employees of the company are working without ACs inside buildings made of glass when the outside temperature is around 45 deg.
Come on.. in consumption per person... when they recruit more people, even if the absolute value grows, the per-person consumption might come down.
@Anant ,,, if you think so then you are wrong. Employees at infy work in comfortable conditions. I can just pity your ignorance
please try to know once how they achieved this..
Well Raghuraman, The idea is simple. Turn the AC off and only turn them on when the users starts complaining. Turn off all the air conditioners at 5:30 pm and ask all employees to go home after that.
Since many have left Infosys in the recent months, consolidation of the remaining workforce may have resulted in power and water savings. I cannot imagine how water usage could be reduced..
The software companies these days allow employees to work from home to save costs on real estate, utilities etc. Some of the major IT corporates have stopped reimbursing the internet, cell phone etc since 2009 recession. This is no surprise they are able to save. The customers are asking for continuous discounts on services year over year. To keep pace with the market it is high time they save more on infrastructure and utilities.
