Pain balm maker Amrutanjan today reported 50.3 per cent increase in net profit to Rs 30.40 lakh for the first quarter ended June 30, 2012.

The Chennai-based company’s net profit was Rs 20.23 lakh during the corresponding period a year ago.

The total income for the quarter slipped marginally to Rs 14.17 crore from Rs 14.65 crore registered during the corresponding period last fiscal.

For the year ending March 31, 2012, the total income of the company stood at Rs 115.02 crore.

During 2011—12, net profit of the company stood at Rs 12.70 crore.

Shares of the company today closed at Rs 772.70 on the BSE, down 2.37 per cent from their previous close.
