Bengaluru-based Barbeque Nation Hospitality, the company that owns the “Barbeque Nation” chain of restaurants, is looking to invest around ₹150-₹200 crore over the next two fiscals (till FY-17) to double its restaurant count. It has over 50 restaurants across 18 cities.

New outlets According to Uday Menon, Chief Business Officer, Barbeque Nation Hospitality, while approximately 20 restaurants will come up by the end of this fiscal (FY-16), the remaining will come up by FY-17. The company is also looking to enter 12 new Indian cities by the end of this fiscal.

Each outlet will cover approximately 5,000-5,500 sq ft and will come up at cost of ₹3-₹4 crore.

“Investments will come mostly from internal resources,” he said on the sidelines of the inauguration of its new outlet (the second one) here in the city. Plans are also on to explore opportunities overseas, particularly in the SAARC and West Asian nations.

Barbecue Nation hopes to clock a turnover of around ₹300-₹325 crore till March this year (FY-15).

The company is also exploring opportunities of expanding the scope of Atmosfire, its barbeque party concept.

Expansion plans People can host the barbeque party at their place of choice or at the venue by Atmosfire. While it has begun the concept at Bengaluru, it will look to expand the same along the Mumbai-Pune Highway.

It is also exploring the possibility of hiving off Kulfi Nation, as a separate brand. Kulfi Nation, at present available at the restaurants, offers a variety of Kulfis along with toppings. “We are currently thinking if it is possible to launch Kulfi Nation on its own,” Menon said.
