Bata India plans to increase its presence in rural areas. The footwear maker will also lay emphasis on increasing its digital footprint through the online shopping format to shore up sales.
Speaking at the company's 84th annual general meeting, Uday Khanna, Chairman, said that the company is aggressively penetrating the footwear markets of Tier-III and IV towns.
"A majority of our population still lives in rural areas and we wish to seize this opportunity by rapidly increasing our presence in these regions by offering stylish and comfortable varieties of footwear at affordable prices," he said.
