Defence public sector undertaking Bharat Electronics Ltd (BEL) has ended the year 2014-15 by registering sales turnover (provisional) of ₹6,671 crore, a growth of 8 per cent over the previous year’s turnover of ₹6,174 crore. BEL achieved exported worth $58 million in 2014-15, registering a growth of 38 per cent over the previous year’s export turnover of $42 million. As part of the ‘Make in India’ initiative, Sunil Kumar Sharma, Chairman and Managing Director, BEL, said about 80 per cent of the sales turnover came from indigenously developed technologies.
