Cancer Genetics Inc., which provides DNA-based diagnostics for various cancers, is strengthening its India operations.

The New Jersey headquartered company has appointed Mandar Kulkarni as the Chief Technology Officer of Cancer Genetics, India based in Hyderabad.

Kulkarni, who had a stint with Sandor Lifesceinces prior to joining here, will lead the company’s efforts in expanding technology programmes in the country.

A graduate of Pune University and doctorate from Purdue University, US, Kulkarni says “ “India has a growing need for advanced oncology services and the company has the technology wherewithal to help improve cancer treatment and affect many lives in our community in a positive way.”

Cancer Genetics has developed DNA-based tests which can diagnose a range of difficult cancers. It has established clinical research collaborations with major cancer centres such as Memorial Sloan-Kettering, The Cleveland Clinic, Mayo Clinic and the National Cancer Institute, according to a press release.
