Voith Group, the German major has recently commissioned Voith banknote paper machines, which will meet the demand for banknotes in India.
Similarly, the €6.5-billion company bagged projects from the metro rail projects in New Delhi, Bangalore and Jaipur as it grows its presence in India.
Voith Turbo, Hyderabad part of the Voith Group has completed 25 years in the country with its top brass from Voith Germany including Hubert Lienhard, President and CEO of the Corporate Board of Management, Carsten J. Reinhardt, Member and President and CEO of Voith Turbo and other attending a function to kickstart the celebrations here today.
Voith’s production units in Hyderabad, include a modern foundry, manufacturing and testing facilities. It has been producing couplings for material handling systems in power stations and mines. It has recently started production of servomotors, hydrodynamic retarders for the domestic and export markets, said Debashis Basu, Managing Director of Voith Turbo, Hyderabad.
In a press release, he said Voith is working with key players in India in sectors such as road and railways. In the country, Voith couplings regulate pumps or fans in more than 90 per cent of thermal plants.
Hubert Lienhard said the German major wants to contribute to India’s sustainable, economic and social development.
The company, which has been present in the country since 1911 has expanded its contribution into energy, oil and gas, paper, raw materials and transport and automotive.
