Central transmission utility Power Grid Corporation has moved electricity authority CERC seeking cancellation of two transmission projects awarded to Reliance Infrastructure and allot the same to the state-run firm.
Power Grid Corp in its petition has asked for revocation of licence of the company executing North Karanpura Transmission Company and Talcher-II Transmission Company transmission projects and passing on the same to the public sector company due to alleged delay in implementation of two projects.
The regulator CERC has directed North Karanpura Transmission Company and Talcher-II Transmission Company to file implementation status of the project at the ground level.
CERC has also asked the two entities to provide an unambiguous roadmap for future implementation of the project along with clear timelines with an advance copy to the petitioner and procurers.
The regulator has also asked Central Electricity Authority to submit a report detailing the current status of these two independent power transmission projects.
The CERC will hear the matter on September 10.

After successful completion of bidding process for the project, the SPV was transferred on May 20, 2010 and Talcher-II Transmission Company was transferred on April 27, 2010, to Reliance Power Transmission Limited.
