State-run NTPC today said coal production from Pakri Barwadih coal mine located in Jharkhand will start shortly.
It also said that it is in advanced stage of awarding contract for appointment of mining and development operator for its two more mines.
“NTPC Ltd, India’s largest power generating company has successfully exposed seam-III in its first coal mine - Pakri Barwadih located in the state of Jharkhand after removal of over burden of 7 lakh cubic metre,” the company said in a statement.
NTPC is in the advanced stage of awarding contract for appointment of Mining cum Development Operator for its two more mines, the statement added.
Centre has allocated 10 mines to NTPC having total estimated reserve of 7.3 billion tonnes with ultimate mining capacity of 107 million tonnes per annum.
