Chennai Petroleum Corporation Ltd (CPCL), an Indian Oil Group company, today reported over seven-fold rise in net profit at Rs 364.57 crore for the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2015.

The Chennai-based company had reported a net profit of Rs 49.81 crore during the corresponding period of the previous year, CPCL said in a BSE filing.

Its total income from operations declined to Rs 8,823.95 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2015, from Rs 13,339.68 crore registered during the same period a year ago.

For the year ended March 31, 2015, the net loss stood at Rs 38.99 crore against a net loss of Rs 303.85 crore registered during the same period previous year.

Total income from operations for the fiscal ended March 31, 2015, dipped to Rs 41,865.96 crore from Rs 49,342.63 crore registered a year earlier, it said.

Shares of CPCL were trading at Rs 101.55 apiece in the afternoon trade, up 12.4 per cent from the previous close on the BSE.
