Daikin Air-conditioning India on Monday said that it will be invest Rs 330 crore this fiscal to double its room AC manufacturing capacity.
Daikin India, which is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Daikin Industries, Japan, currently produces half-a-million AC units at its plant in Neemrana, Rajasthan. Despite the economic slowdown, the company wants to increase the capacity to a million units.
The company said that despite the slowdown it aims to continue to grow in the Indian HVAC (Heating, Ventilation and Air conditioning) industry, as the market is an intrinsic part of the company’s vision in the future.
Kanwal Jeet Jawa, Managing Director, Daikin Airconditioning India Pvt. Ltd, said, “Our aim for the current financial year is to achieve 30 per cent growth. Thus we have decided to invest Rs 330 crore in the current fiscal.”
He added that the company will increase its sales and distribution network in the current fiscal by adding 46 more standalone stores and 400 dealers to its distribution network across India.
Daikin India also plans to broaden its export portfolio and diversify exports across South-East Asian countries, South Africa and West Asia.
