The Debt Recovery Tribunal (DRT), Bangalore, has allowed Vijay Mallya, one of the defendants, to submit his evidence in the SBI-led consortium of banks and Kingfisher Airlines case. Earlier, DRT had denied this opportunity to Mallya as he failed to comply with the deadline set by the Tribunal for submitting his evidence to counter charges made by the banks. However, Mallya got a chance on Thursday as DRT Presiding Officer CR Benakanahalli allowed his application seeking permission to submit his evidence. The tribunal said that the arguments could be made on July 13.
