DSK Motowheels, the dealer of imported superbikes in India has set high hopes on the Gujarat market as it sees about 10 per cent of its expected sales of newly launched Benelli Superbikes will come from here. 

Launched on March 19 in the Indian market, Benelli superbikes will have more takers in the four metros but the company sees good demand potential for the high-priced bikes in Gujarat too.

"We expect to sell about 3,000 Benelli bikes nationally, but we are confident to sell more than 300 such bikes in Gujarat in this calender year," said Shivapada Ray, chief operating officer, DSK Motowheels here.

Of the superbikes launched in five variants, ranging from 300 cc to 1130 cc and pricing from Rs 2.89 lakh to Rs.12.07 lakh (ex-showroom Ahmedabad), Ray expects 300 cc and 600 cc variants to grow faster than other variants.

DSK Motowheels has two showrooms in Gujarat each in Ahmedabad and Surat. 

Commenting about the profile of the customers of the high-end superbikes, Ray mentioned that people from all age-groups and income-groups come to buy these bikes. All the bikes will be CKD (completely knocked down) units and will be assembled at the company's Wai facility near Pune in Maharashtra. 

DSK has so far received over 360 bookings nationwide for Benelli in three days and is confident of selling 3,000 units during the calendar year.

DSK Motowheels also sells Korean superbikes brand Hyosung with price range of Rs 2.9 lakh to Rs 6.12 lakh.
