Dishman Pharmaceuticals and Chemicals Ltd today said there was fire at one of the units of its Bavla facility on Tuesday evening.
“There was a fire incident at one of the units (Unit No.7) at our Bavla facility yesterday late evening and it had been brought under control. Health and safety of the people is always our prime concern and that has been achieved,” Dishman Pharmaceuticals and Chemicals said in a BSE filing.
It further said: “We also do not see any major financial impact due to the incident. Moreover, the company has an insurance policy for the damage of assets and the loss of profit.”
Dishman Pharmaceuticals’ Bavla plant near Ahmedabad is mainly used for making pharmaceutical intermediate and active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs).
The company maintained that there will be no impact on the production in any of the other units located at the Bavla facility.
Dishman Pharmaceuticals and Chemicals stock was trading 0.29 per cent lower at Rs 237.15 on the BSE.
