In a recently released report, talent management firm, DDI has said that companies with higher percentage of women in leadership roles perform better.
This is the seventh report since DDI began conducting this research in 1999, which consists of responses from a participant pool of 13,124 global leaders and 1,528 human resource executives within 2,031 participating organisations. Forty eight countries and 32 major industries are represented, as well as multinationals and local corporations, according to a statement by DDI.
Further, the research also pointed out that percentage of millennials in leadership roles that is impacting success of a business. However, India has not witnessed any significant improvement in leadership quality and leadership bench strength, as can be seen from a lot of companies who struggle to identify the next set of leaders. Andrew Warren Smith, Managing Director of India and Director of Affiliate Operations, DDI said:
“There is an urgent need for organisations to deliberate and introspect about the underlying issues witnessed in the report and look at requisite measures that could be adopted to lead the change”.
