Ford India believes its sub 4-metre long EcoSport will not come under the Budget proposal to hike excise duty on SUVs from 27 per cent to 30 per cent.
“While our bigger SUV Endeavour will be impacted, our interpretation is EcoSport will not come under this on certain cut-offs such as ground clearance. Our experts are looking into the fine-print,” said Singh.
