Ford India on Wednesday launched the second generation Figo hatchback priced between ₹4.29 lakh and ₹7.40 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi).

It will compete in one of the largest selling segments with the likes of Maruti Suzuki's Swift and Hyundai Motor's India Grand i10.

The new car will be available in the 1.2L Ti-VCT petrol engine and 1.5L TDCi diesel engine variants. The company said while the petrol variant would give a fuel economy of 18.16 km to a litre, the diesel variant would give 25.83 km to a litre (under tests conditions).

"Built on Ford's latest global platform, the all-new Figo is an able and worthy successor to one of Ford's well-known and trusted nameplates in India," Nigel Harris, Managing Director and President, Ford India, said here at the launch.

The second generation Figo also carries high-end features such as the MyKey system that can limit speed and warn the driver with visual and audio alerts, MyFord Dock and Sync with Ford AppLink to connect and control mobile devices.
