Railway equipment maker Bridge & Roof Co on Monday urged Minister of State for Railways Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury to allocate more work orders.
The Kolkata-based company is a Miniratna PSU under the Department of Heavy Industries.
According to a release, there is a dearth of orders from the Railways and the facilities at the company’s Howrah workshop are “highly underutilised”.
Drawing the minister’s attention, Mukesh Jha, Chairman and Managing Director of Bridge & Roof, gave a presentation on the company and requested him to offer it more opportunities in on-going railway projects.
The company’s Howrah workshop currently manufactures stainless steel wagons, bridge girders and structural steel platform shelters for Indian Railways.
