Global Hospitals has opened a quaternary cardiac care centre, Global Heart Institute, to provide heart and lung transplant services. Teams of cardiologists and surgeons will provide round-the-clock emergency services at the institute besides advanced treatments for cardiac problems, K Ravindranath, Chairman and Managing Director, Global Hospitals said in a release.
Cardiac campsThe institute will also conduct out-reach camps and clinics beyond the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad in the districts of Telangana, where cardiac services are not available. A ‘second opinion’ clinic has also been opened in the new institute for a comprehensive re-evaluation for needy patients, he added. India is estimated to account for the maximum number of patients suffering from heart diseases in the world.
