Godrej Appliances is expecting a 30 per cent jump in its national sales this fiscal thanks to the growth witnessed in the appliances industry across all segments and product categories.

With the improvement in business, the company has set a sales target of ₹2,700 crore against the ₹2,200 crore garnered in the last fiscal, Ramesh Chembath, Associate Vice President, Marketing, Godrej Appliances, said.

The first quarter in the current fiscal has started off on a very positive note, as the summer season across the country has been extremely well for the cooling categories of refrigerators and air conditioners. Against a bad situation in 2013, he said the market picked up since January this year with stability in currency rates, climatic conditions and commodity prices.

“We are proud to announce that Godrej Appliances has grown at 30 per cent which is double the industry at 15 per cent with air conditioner category showing a brilliant growth at 60 per cent this season”, he told reporters here on Monday.

Ramesh was here to kickstart Onam celebrations with the launch of a bumper offer where customers vet a chance to win a diamond necklace worth ₹1 lakh every day. The company also unveiled its star products for the first time in Kerala market which included Godrej Edge Digi, the hybrid refrigerator, Edge ZX range of refrigerators and semi automatic washing machines.

Kerala is an important market for us and the company is aiming to achieve a 50 per cent growth with a premium launches across all categories. The company is eyeing a sales of ₹150 crore during the Onam sales against ₹100 crore clocked during the last festive season, Jayesh Parekh, National Sales Head, said.
