Riding on the back of higher sales and better capacity utilisation, Graphite India Ltd has posted 164 per cent rise in net profit at Rs 29 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2017.
EBITDA margins improved to 16.1 per cent during the first quarter of FY18 compared with 10.3 per cent same period last year.
According to K K Bangur, Chairman, Graphite India, the improvement in margins was primarily on account of achieving better economies of scale arising out of higher capacity utilisation.
He was addressing the company’s shareholders at the annual general meeting here on Friday.
