Imposition of GST will have an "inflationary impact" and lead to an increase in tea prices, Cyrus Mistry, Chairman (NonExecutive), Tata Global Beverages, said here.
Responding to a shareholder query on the company's annual general meeting, Mistry said: "With GST, there will be an inflationary impact on the prices of tea; but this will be across the board."
He, however, added that GST has to be looked at "in totality" in a much wider spectrum and in the long term it will be benefical for industry and consumers.
