Hartek Power bagged 1,025-MW solar grid EPC orders in 2016-17, with a third of these coming from Telangana and Karnataka. The orders include a 100-MW solar power project at Kalwakurthy in Telangana and 30 substation projects in several States.
The company connected more than 500 MW of solar projects to the grid in 2016-17 and the order book of about 1GW shows a 733 per cent jump over 123 MW order it received during the previous year.
“Given the favourable market scenario, the proactive approach of the Government in pushing solar power and our expertise in connecting solar projects to the grid, we have surpassed the 500-MW target quite smoothly,” Hartek Singh, Chairman and Managing Director, said in a statement.
Hartek Power, the Chandigarh-based Engineering, Procurement and Construction company, has been focussing on the southern States seeking to rapidly deploy renewable energy projects.
With more than 3-GW tenders currently under execution, the company is aiming at a much bigger role in the sector and targeting substation orders of 500 MW solar projects in the current financial year.
