In the next two to three years NNG expects the demand for embedded navigation to grow significantly. The navigation solutions company which works with two Chennai-based car manufacturers will partner with a third by the end of the year or early next year, according to Peter Bolesza, Vice-President of Eastern Europe and Emerging Markets, NNG.

“We have non-disclosure agreements with clients not to reveal their names at this moment,” he told newspersons when asked to disclose the names of car manufacturers who will use the company's navigation system.

NNG is a navigation solution provider for automotive, personal, and wireless navigation markets offering onboard 3D navigation applications. Its iGO navigation software is currently installed in over 20 million devices globally. Bolesza did not have numbers for India.

At present, the company’s navigation system that works on the Global Positioning System in India is fitted in the Renault Duster and Volkswagen cars, he said.

India produced nearly 3.2 million passenger vehicles in 2014 and ranks sixth in the world. The number is likely to be nearly 10 million in six years, and the country will move to third position by then. This potential is enough to bring the company’s increased focus to India, he said.
