The country's second largest passenger car manufacturer Hyundai Motor India (HMIL) on Tuesday launched its sixth generation Elantra priced between ₹12.99 lakh and ₹19.19 lakh (ex-showroom, introductory price).

The latest Elantra is available in both petrol (2-litre) and diesel (1.6-litre) and while the petrol version will give 14.59 kmpl, the diesel would offer 22.54 kmpl, the company said.

While the petrol variant is priced between ₹12.99 lakh and ₹17.99, the diesel variant is priced at ₹14.79 lakh - ₹19.19 lakh. "The new Elantra is the global best-seller and has set forth new standards in its every generation. The all-new Elantra builds upon the momentum and success of its award-winning history with strong value proposition," said YK Koo, MD and CEO. Since its launch in August 2012, the company has sold 13,700 units in the domestic market, and with the latest version, the company aims to be on top position in the segment, he said.

“We already have attained significant market share in the SUV segment with the Creta. With Elantra, we will further strengthen our market share in the country,” Koo said.

The latest version of the Elantra comes with various features like high intensity discharge headlamps, projector fog lamps, glass antenna and voice recognition. The multimedia system is equipped with Apple Carplay and Android Auto for seamless integration of app-based navigation, streaming audio, voice controlled search capabilities and smartphone applications, the company said.

Apart from new features, it has also introduced Hyundai Premium Assurance Program offering warranty with three years unlimited kilometre. It also offers free maintenance for three years/30,000 km, three years roadside assistance, three times update on ‘Map Care’ and three times customer 'Home Visit'.
