Idea Cellular, India’s third largest mobile operator by subscribers, has launched a music application.
The application - musicHUB – permits subscribers to download music, stream songs and also create personalised playlists in their preferred language. The advertisement-free service also enables users to share songs via SMS, e-mail and across social networking platforms, the company said in a release.
“Mobile phones are increasingly becoming the first screen of many users across India. Idea Cellular caters to nearly 33 million data users in the country and many of these users access the internet for entertainment purposes. Keeping this in mind, it has been our consistent effort to meet our users’ requirements through innovative entertainment offerings and services,” said Sashi Shankar, Chief Marketing Officer at Idea Cellular.
The service, which includes songs from Bollywood, English and regional languages, is priced at Rs 29 a week, Rs 49 for 15 days and Rs 99 for a month, it added.
