Marking its entry into the online education market, IL&FS Group’s social infrastructure arm on Wednesday launched ‘Geneo’, a personalised digital learning platform targeting the K-12 segment.
The platform has been developed in technical collaboration with Google. Ravi Parthasarathy, Chairman, IL&FS Group, launched its first version, which caters to science and mathematics for students of class 9 and 10.
Geneo uses an app-cloud model to provide curated digital content from multiple sources.
It will also map prescribed textbook syllabi by providing complete digital versions of NCERT textbooks which can be personalised by highlighting, creating notes and adding bookmarks. The platform will provide relevant videos, assessments, quizzes and access to teams of teachers and subject experts nationwide.
Students’ queries will be automatically forwarded to the most qualified expert.
Speaking at a press conference, RCM Reddy, MD and CEO, IL&FS Education and Technology Services (IETS), said: “Geneo will offer round-the-clock remote mentor support.”
Surya Ramachandran, Chief Innovation Officer, IETS, said: “We are working to now have subjects like robotics and programming integrated into the same platform.”
