Infosys has bagged a multi-year deal from Volvo Cars.

While the company did not mention the value of this outsourcing deal or the duration of this deal, it said that has been engaged with Volvo since 2010 and as a part of this deal, it will be strategic supplier to provide application development services for its global operations, the company said in a statement.

Further, majority of the work involves modernising Volvo’s IT infrastructure. This application development work includes maintaining applications to support multiple domains, including marketing and sales, customer service, manufacturing, product development and corporate business functions.

Apart from maintaining the IT systems of Volvo, Infosys officials opine that this would help them in getting more such deals from companies in the Nordics region. The company has a subsidiary in Sweden, which it had set up in 2009 to expand into Europe but does not give out the number of employees based out of this region. Infosys Sweden is one of its ten subsidiaries.

According to this deal, Infosys Public Services, a subsidiary of Infosys will modernise the legacy system in addition to other federal, local health and social programmes for the District of Columbia, the company said in a statement.

Last year, Infosys was awarded $49.5-million contract from the District of Columbia to develop its health insurance marketplace, the DC Health Link.

Infosys Public Services provides consulting, systems integration, IT services, BPO and other services to health insurers and providers, government healthcare, federal and state and local government.
